37a Lookout departs for some black lead (4) ?ADD wadd?
41a Leaving suburbs of Stoke, never choose dodgy comprehensive survey (8) onceover ?

41 'never choose' anagrammed (dodgy) with the S and E, outer letters of Stoke, removed... and leaving you with a spare H. Onceover.

Help please with the 19 cells to be highlighted... i have the message from the acrosses and have looked it up......possibly 4,4 in row 4 but the rest?
( i've done the 2nd part involving 7 cells)

I've never read this book so am really struggling. Like Bunty, I can see 4 and 4 in row 4 and maybe 7 in column 7 but nothing is jumping out at me in row 12.

PS. Is the unclued entry a word for the south wind?
