Still trying to parse this from an FT crossword
The clue is:
“Party, rules ignored - Labour” from the crosses the answer must be Beano which is an old word for party but I just can’t see how it’s parsed?

Having looked at the crossword, it seems pretty clear that there is a line missing from the clue, since this is the last down clue and it lacks an enumeration (ie '(5)'). The solution published the following week confirms the answer to be BEANO.

Now trying to work out what the missing bit is...

I'm going for 'Party rules ignored - Labour era born', but the missing bit could be any two (or more) words made up of the letters BEANORR, from which the two Rs are then removed ('rules ignored') prior to being anagrammed ('Labour', imperative verb).
