For anyone needing - or even just wanting - a break from a very tough Listener, today's Inquisitor is quite a treat.

Yes I'm enjoying it. Two thirds done.
Could do with a tip for 10d, and to know if 28a has special treatment or not.

Lumen, all the special cells are symmetrically placed, so 28a has none.
10d is not in Chambers. A newbie is a deb.

Malone, I agree. But I think 39a should say department rather than region as they have specific meanings in France (I think). And the definition in 1a doesn't quite work for me; it should be a Greek something. Also "in" in 18d is misleading.

10 D is one of the thematic answers. The first word is NOT what I thought it was, I led myself astray for a time. The 'team' is the usual two letters. The second word is the obvious one, I got it from the crossers of 26 A and 30 A.

PS Glad you're enjoying it.

Orson, I thought 1 Across could be read as 'A [in] Greek], cut short.

Thanks orson for 10.
I noticed some symmetricality but wasn't sure.
And good things to ponder for the others you mention.

Orson, I half-agree with your view of 39A. I suppose that 'department' is specifically French, and in English department and region are classed as interchangeable. I think 'department' would have been better, but think the clue itself isn't wrong or unfair.

Definitely a relief from the Listener! All done, with one query. Why 'Trivial Pursuit'?

Granama, because of the first three letters in the title?

Trivial - etymologically from Latin trivium "a place where three roads or ways meet"?
