Help needed with these - 14a Fabric - some linen? - on inventory.

5d Covered walk for Scottish bird. pa??

I too was puzzled by 14a. I assumed it couldn't be linen - talk about hiding in plain sight! - so it had to be "Ninon", a fabric indeed , although there was no indication in the clue that we had to look for something hindden reading from right to left,

For 5d just check out the several different given definitions under *pawn" in Chambers
