Stuck again!

This time with 23ac and 19d

19d Gluttony - bangers? (2,2).

I want to put in “As in” (for “a sin”) but I can’t make “as in”=bangers. The only crossing letter I have is the S.

23ac 19 + 1 and rising (5)

I *think* this starts with an S. If 19d is “As in” it would end in an I. The third letter is an N I think.

So I have (possibly) S#N#I

Any thoughts?

23a could be SINAI, a mountain - rising?

Replying to myself here. I’m thinking SINAI for “rising” (as in a mountain) and it’s an anagram of A SIN & I but I’d still like to know why AS IN = bangers.
