3 Down - "Note thrilling sensation when removing lingerie, primarily"
I have TINGE as the answer - how does this equate to "note"?

I see Tinge and Tone as both meaning 'having a slight tint or colouring'.

I'm still trying to link up the NOTE part of the clue. There's some abstruse tie-up but I haven't yet seen it.

What about a. There was a tinge of sarcasm in her reply

I think you were comparing "tinge" and "note", Malone. and put "tone" by mistake! Whatever, thanks for your help - another way-out solution, as is often the case with this compiler!

In reply to your last posting, that may also be a possibility! Thanks again.

Thanks, rocketman. The Tone was just a typo.

The 'note of sarcasm' was from one of the dictionaries, and I thought 'tinge of sarcasm' would mean exactly the same.

I thought of it in terms of wine tasting, as in "I'm getting notes of gooseberry, lavender..." etc

Thanks, TreborNotlaw - that works well too. I think it's all to do with nuances ...
