Seems a bit of a pig this month! Two left to finish:

3down: Rugby players, a reserve, with half back, repeatedly supporting team in second half (11)
I think it could be the name of a Rugby team. A + POLO + POLO (reserve - pool - with half back twice) following (supporting) AM (second half of 'team'). This would give the answer as AMAPOLOPOLO but I cannot find this with Mr Google. (There is a place in the Philippines called Mapolopolo which has a rugby team but the initial letter 'A' is missing). Any help appreciated (with the source of the answer).

13across: As certain Cossacks kill, or blunder defending area in borders (10) I have ?A???O?I?N but no idea of what the answer could be. Any ideas please?

Many thanks

13 Zaporogian, Cossacks. Zap = kill +Or , in clue. OG, own goal, blunder+In with A, area inside.
That's a bit garbled, hope it makes some sort of sense!

Mattrom - I got so fixated by 'reserve' being 'pool' that I couldn't get polopolo out of my head.

Malone - a clear explanation of the parsing.

The clues have been fairly ugly and convoluted this month! Many thanks to both

Glad we could help, ThePost. It was rather a convoluted parse, so not ideal for me - I frequently miss bits or mix up bits!
