Clue. Runs out of personal cover ( 7)
Answer. Streaks
I understand runs/ streaks but not the personal cover unless it's related to hair streaks but that seems too tenuous.
Any ideas please.
Also.
Clue. Keep going and you'll get there (5)
Answer. Ahead
Just doesn't seem to mean anything specific.
Thanks for any suggestions

Streakers are naked runners, out of personal cover! There was a little spate of streakers running on to the pitch at various sporting events, decades ago.

They're both single cryptic(ish) definitions:

Streaks = 'runs naked', ie 'out of personal cover'

If you keep going you'll get ahead, ie you'll make progress

Spoffy and Malone
Thank you both. I knew there would be people out there who would be able to explain.
Streaking just hadn't registered with me even though I'd been looking at skin.
