I think that all the participants have voted and left me with a dilemma. Lots of contenders with one or two votes.
One vote for BBM@25, FJ@32, Geevo41@8, BBM@24 and 25 and Rossim@4
2 votes for FJ@3 and Tyke@12.

By my calculations there were 16 entrants which means that there were 3 votes each for Mattrom@29 and Spike@21 which means I have to select a winner. Drat!

In a different world I'd pick Geevo because when I chose the word I had a go at setting a clue and he/she must be reading my mind although the clue was better than mine but very, very similar (:o)

However...I'm going to go for Spike @ 21 with:

Communication may need signing for. (8)

It could have been even more efficient without the 'for' but that's just a minor quibble. I liked the simplicity.

As it was so close between the two contestants there is a choice of prizes one of which is related to the theme and current events, the other only related to the fact that I like it. Winner gets first pick.

Your clips feature two of my favourite transatlantic performers, though I hadn't heard that Laurie Anderson track. Wasn't she married to Lou Reed?

ChrisE, she was indeed married to Lou Reed but it didn't seem to help either of them creatively. Leo Kottke is a long time favourite. I think he was influenced by John Fahey but the story is he locked himself away for 2 years and taught himself that style.

yes, i liked john fahey too - so many notes!
i remember that leo kottke was a particular favourite of garrison keillor
