I can also see an extract that needs replacing in the RH column but no others, which I think leaves me a 'little' short.

The replacements are all real words, son1. I was held up for a while because I thought the changes would appear roughly symmetrically, but the fourth one is an exception. It's near the one in the RH column.

As recommended in another thread, I’ve sent an email to the EV editor, thanking him for all that he does to provide us with such a high standard of puzzles every week. We were recommended to give some feedback so I did that too. I said I’d enjoyed this puzzle but I thought more guidance could have been provided about the replacement letters. I know what I’m looking for but having great difficulty with the last replacement, even after a lot of googling.

I think you might find it with the Russians, rad.

Got it now, thanks very much! I had a wrong terminal letter for one entry. It just shows, you can’t be too careful!

Thanks for your comments. I made the same mistake as rad re terminal letter.

I was surprised that the pre-amble made no reference to clashing letters and that puzzled me throughout, but it became clear in the end. Also thought "items of a similar description" was unhelpful.

Pleased with myself as I have never finished a Kcit puzzle, and I did it without help. I will enter and email Editor. Very enjoyable as the excellent series continues.
