re 22 down, whilst I think answer is doodah as fits with 30 across
if correct then i think setter has confused doodah with doodad,
or it might simply be that I have 30 across wrong

it's the everyman. the clue is
fuss when two of hearts switched for diamonds with gizmo
it is doodah, but i haven't parsed it either

Not a puzzle I look at, but presumably you are simply changing two of the three letters h in hoohah, a synonym for fuss, into d to give doodah, a gizmo
