21d Set off with no rescue boat and sink . Ans must be embed but I just can't see why.
22d Spruce border , cut back.Ans must be trim. Just can't parse-might be something to do with a mitre cut .

Alwayspuzzled, that answer puzzled (!) me for a minute or two on Saturday, I too was trying to do something with 'mitre'.
