I thought that 2d was a three letter foreign word for water inside a word for pair. The last two letters are an abbreviation of the end of the place Ipswich play.
My mistake - I'm sure yours is the correct parse, as it accounts for the R(oa)D part of Ipswich's ground/arena, plus it utilises the "carrying" part of the clue.
Crossword should be fun and even those who canât get you should have that âoh of courseâ moment when you see the answer.
