Hi Cannyannie, I think the first letter to 38d is 's' (not that that has helped me get the answer).

The other must be UNLOOSE - UN LOSE around O.

I've looked at yours, CannyAnnie. I suspect that more than one of the letters might be wrong, I'm afraid.
