"US star has cereal mostly - or fruit"

This was the last clue I had, and based on the letters I was able to guess correctly "CHERRY." I cannot for the life of me figure out why this works. I guess "US star" is "CHER" but how does "has cereal mostly" get me "RY"? Alternatively, getting to Cher with the "h" in "has" and "cer" from cereal, but that wouldn't be most of "cereal." And it still doesn't explain the "RY." Help.

JohnT54 - I think it's Cher and ry (most of rye - a cereal).

Of course. No way I would have got that one if I hadn't had most of the letters. Thank you.
