I have - S - A - E

So it’s probably ESTATE as that may mean left (bequeathed) but how does the rest of the clue fit in? Only other option seems to be ESCAPE but I can’t see that either

Estate, left. Right of centre = the letter at the end/right of 'centrE' +state, say.

Sorry, Estate - this may be left, that's the definition.
