Hi, Jafo - I work on the assumption that it's fine to give answers unless the original question says 'hints only', 'can I have a nudge?', things like that.

Yes I agree, after all I am sure a lot of people come here for help to finish off whichever crossword they are doing.

I don't visit too often but came today for the specific reason of trying to find out what was going on in the guardian prize, which I would never have got myself. While I like to consider myself decent at solving I am absolutely hopeless with spotting themes.
