‘Still’ is very precise in 3d

Finished - but with much struggling with the Americanisms (eg 3, 10, 11) and the tenuous connections between clues and solutions (eg 23,20, and 25,16 - another American usage in that one?).

Yes, the definition for 25,16 seems extremely loose to me too, and 23,20 not a lot better.

I agree this wasn't a great Gruniad crossword. I've also noticed an increasing tendency for Paul to incrrasingly write a high proportion of naughty/smutty_ish clues, meaning the effect is lost through saturation.

I finished the grid earlier, except for 8.d This hen wouldn't want to be turning her friends out (8,5)

Please can you put me out of my misery - I just don't get this one!
