Also would appreciate help parsing 44a: Composer, irrational to abandon carnival city (6) *E*I*S . I have DELIUS but don't know why. Any suggestions?

Thanks malone. Seems obvious with hindsight. Was misled by having "Judge" spelt with capital. Was looking for proper name.
