I'm all done apart from 7a. The only word that fits my grid has T and F as letters 2 and 4. Right or wrong?? If right, the parsing escapes me

Yes, your letters are correct . If you take off the first two letters, and put in G , for good, you'd have 'bosses'. It's swapping the good for 'St', quiet, that turns it into employees.

...with a 'g(ood)' at the top it would be 'bosses'/foremen.

I swear that I have never come across "st=quiet" in my 200-odd years on this planet. Thanx chap(esse)s.

Tatters, glad we could help. The 'st = quiet' is in Chambers, an interjection, hush...'

I had exactly the same thought about st=quiet... never seen that before. Not in my 100 years in lockdown, nor the years of existence prior to that!

Despite not really giving two hoots about the theme, I rather enjoyed Awinger’s offering.

I was just checking that the ‘May contain answers’ thread was still here! The other thread is doing everything bar showing a video of the game! An answer, in capitals, appears there, even.

I think that's the point of having two threads, rad - with one clearly warning of 'answers'.
