48d Reason bridge team is participating in match (5)

I have sense as the answer but struggling to pass!! is SEE or NE a bridge thing? I just cant work it out!!

All help gratefully received!!

a bridge team would consist of 4 players North S E and W
N & S would be a pair ....inside see (synonym for match)

NS, North and South are one team in a game of bridge, the other being EW.

sorry not quite right above .....the 4 players in a game are N S E W .
Opposites partner each other to make a team ...so N and S are one team, E and W are their opponents
