Hi folks,

I get the COD acronym, but would some kind soul please explain the other three-letter acronyms in use here?

Thanks.

Hi everyone

I know LOI and FOI now, but what does COD mean in this context?

As usual I'm struggling. I have much of the right hand side, but the LHS is nearly blank. Can you help me get going. I don't understand 3d despite the various posts. I'm assuming that half of a human joint is involved. Can I have hint please for that and 1ac

1ac Bird box has string (7)
3d Smoke half of joint, then kip (4)

and is 4d a painting?

I've fortified myself with a glass of wine (it is after 6.00pm) so I might start to make progress.

Clue Of the Day
1a 4 letter word for "box" followed by 3 letter word for string (loosely), def. bird
The joint isn't human - in fact, it's illegal!

Hi Roof, I was slow to get going also!
3d is a different type of joint, one you might smoke ;)
1a uses box in the same context as ring in 5a
4d is a painting and is rather good in the the entire clue rather describes the painting in question

4d is a painting (and an anagram)

The joint is not human - more dopey. The last letter is a bone of contention.

1 is a bird made up of another word meaning box and a word meaning a string

Many thanks Chris, Jono and Exlibris

I think I have finished, but I have a number of answers I can't completely parse: 9ac, 15ac, 21,16 (I've an answer, but no idea why), 25ac, 3ac, 19d and 23d.

It helped to get 1ac and then 4d. My biggest confusion is 21, 16. What is the definition?

So I'm off to settle down for another two episodes of Twins.

No need to give the solutions away - clues were requested

Or, I should say, parsing - still no need for solutions
