Lavish whisky replaces stylish head (8)

( It was in my thesaurus, but not happy with fade as synonym )

I suppose "fade away" and "waste away" are similar, but I agree "fade" by itself doesn't seem all that close to "waste".

Several I can't parse. Any help, please, on

Rotated as indicating one inside t'other

chrise: I took 8 as double def, oblivious as totally drunk, out of it, wasted, negligently used, wasted. Assume 11 is same, but don't quite see it.
In 28 I think he's saying pants are waisted and using waste as excrement but turning it into a verb.

If nobody can parse a certain clue , it’s almost certainly too hard, or there may even be an error in it. If the the blog’s contributors found it too difficult, it’s worth bearing that in mind. Many of the people who contribute to these blogs are experienced solvers and if they have struggled with the puzzle, you can be sure that the average solver will not have got far at all

In case Tyke doesn't look in before voting starts, my take on it is
hit = kill, waste, + miss, in the sense of miss/waste an opportunity.
