In these coming days, weeks and months of isolation, it's a safe bet that we will all be in search of pleasant diversions, and this is exactly that.

I know these things are very subjective, but I think most solvers will find this a bit easier than usual, which is no bad thing.

There's a solid mix of clues, with anagrams (quite a few more than normal, I'd say), hiddens, final letters, a palindrome, charades and some very witty cryptic definitions.

But my COD is 20d, (see below) which is quite brilliant. The answer is clear but the parsing really takes some working out - at least it did for me! But when you finally get that PDM - I guarantee it will make you smile:-)

20d: I think I can fit only one obvious answer to u_c_o_. But I don’t understand why. Am I missing something here that is too British? Rest of the answers are all fine for me, though I had some difficulty with 1d. Eventually I got the name of the kiss and tell stone by looking up Google.

I think I have to spell out the : here, along with u. Correct?

With u as in Nato code!

The trouble was I didn’t know that the answer for 20d is a slang for out-dated or square. Now the parsing is clear to me. Yes, it is a devious clue. Thanks.
