Thanks scorpiojo - still mystified by 14D. I have ..a.s.o.e.a and you say 'second p' is incorrect but I have no 'p' in it . Clue is: 'Spies entrap idiot, minor poet regularly following stars'. Would welcome help.

Johnpuzzle, Scorpio corrected things and said it was the second S that was wrong - but it looks as if you got that sorted anyway!

14d. 'spies' is a 3 letter abbreviation, which encloses (a word for an idiot + alternate letters of 'minor poet')
