Stuck with several but here's one. 10a Race has large numbers touring African republic (8,7) Can't get the first word but for the second word I've got g*i*a*s which seems to make "guitars". But what could the first word be? Very puzzled.

are you sure of the a? i think it might be a race

The A is definitely wrong (or in the wrong place!).

I thought 6d might be "obit". Old Testament round British and India!
