One letter, never mind one clue to get.

20A Fruit you regularly bit (3)

I have U?A

I know UVA is a fruit, but I can't see a parse.

ULA is contained within, and is therefore a "bit"of, "regularly" but I'm not aware of any such fruit.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/ula
gives a definition (I think) of the fruit of Parinari curatellifolia.

Thanks Norrier! Chambers drew a blank on that one.

I put in uva and after finishing the crossword wondered what Danword had as the answer. Strangely he has uva so if answer is Ula which I agree with, then maybe the Herald is not supplying the answers but they are completing the crossword earlydoors???

Hope my ULA is not a a red herring. Often wondered if Myops crossword syndicated and appears somewhere else before the Herald

SO - uva is the given answer and my ula was a red herring.
Anybody come up with the parsing?
