A neat crossword once you get going, but despite all the helpful hints I am still stuck on 12ac: I have ?E?P?R. Could it be to do with blowing ones top? Any further help appreciated.

Glad you got it sorted Freddy. I only know those Bridge letter pairings due the frequency with which they're used by setters. I sometimes look at the Bridge reports in the games sections of newspapers and, honestly, it looks like the most complicated, intricate card game ever! -but it is popular.
