I'm new to cryptics and struggling with some of the wordplay.

Why would BOMBERS be the solution to the clue:

Storage unit in South African aircraft

I appreciate that a bomber is obviously a type of aircraft but not how the clue should direct me to the answer.

Hi Micky, the definition is obviously "aircraft" and it's got from...

Storage unit = MB as in Megabit in...

South African = BOER

Conventionally the definition should be at the beginning or end of the clue, so that works.
