Finished the crossword but there are three I can't decide if I got right or not.

1d - Mound hot, running a temperature (4)

I put HILL. As in mound and ill. Is the 'H' really enough from 'hot'?

15d Where swingers would have had it off upside-down, Burns claims (9)

I put SCAFFOLDS. I can see 'scolds' from Burns. But 'aff'?!

17d Popular bishops, say, f**cked up? (2, 6)

I've gone with IN PIECES. What do you reckon?

15d scalds - burns + off

in - popular
pieces - such as bishops on a chess board

1 down - Yes, H is often clued as hot
19 down - scalds round off reversed, i.e. upside down
17 down - popular = in and bishops are pieces in chess.
