10a: Mother declines possible award when the actions over? I've got D*M*G**. Thought it might be "DAMAGED" or "DAMAGES" but don't understand the word play.
Also 8d: Case of diseases seen regularly by doctor. All I think I have is D***X.

Mother = Dam
Declines = Ages,
Damages = award in a law suit, when the action/case is over.

8 Desex, doctor(verb). De, outer letters (cases) of 'disease' + SE, second letters (regularly) in 'seen' +X, by, times.
