Can anyone help to parse these?
36d: Camera accessory selection finally sold in more stylish setting.
Answer: Rangefinder
55a: Onlooker volunteers to feed unpopular police officer?
Answer: Spectator. I think this may be: Spec, (short for inspector), tater?
(short for potato) but heaven forfend if it is.

55a: spectator -=onlooker (def)
TA - Territorial army / volunteers
(in) spector - unpopular police officer

36d: range-finder = camera accessory (def)
range - selection
d - (sol) d
finer- more stylish

36d. range (selection) + (sol)d in finer

Thanks for your help, ginge and elle. I have not been able to come across the slang expression "spector" anywhere. Is this now in current usage?

popular is IN
Police officer is INSPECTOR
Cryptically, unpopular (not IN) so remove IN (popular) from Inspector

Thanks cerasus, I see it all now. I must add this was an extremely clumsy clue in my view.
