Am I being dim, or does 24a have a second letter 'o' where there should be an 'a', (or possibly vice versa) ?

Guardian Prize, 24a "Dessert containing large foreign article is a showy but worthless trifle". I have F_L_E_O_. The definition suggests the answer should start FAL, but the parsing requires FOL.

Thank you. I thought that only meant a showy or worthless trifle if it started FAL. I'm afraid neither word is in my everyday vocab.
