Way out matter looks like "issue", if you have an error?
The other one could be "dry rot" ?

I would think it likely to be "dry rot".
Where did your "t" come from?

On quick inspection, I ended up with the same letters as Mairead.

Maybe a couple of errors here.

Shooty, for 21d I would have "censers".

Yes Rusty. Censers and issue would cross nicely. As I said, I had a quick flick threw. Candles was my thought. But Censers definitely will work.
