Congrats, mattrom, on another well-deserved triumph. Thanks for the votes mattrom, aristo and jws, and for the mentions from dorrien and Paul. Always much appreciated. Well hosted, Chris. I'll take a good look at the clips later - I'm also a big JT fan.

I won't reappear now till 2020, so I'll take the opportunity to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Cheers.

Wow! Thank you so much everyone for the votes and kind comments.
Thanks for the challenge, Chrise, and my prizes. What a beautiful voice - and a singer with the name of a musical instrument.
I'm retired now, but I graduated in Architecture and later studied Horticulture to gain the plant knowledge for landscaping. Also had excursions into clothing design/sales and yacht charters in Queensland. I do sometimes wonder about the occupations of contributors here.

Tyke, I am coping, but all I have to worry about is smoke and heat. It's heartbreaking that so many animals and people are involved in the fires.
Wishing everyone the best for Christmas/Chanukah. I hope to "see" you in the lull between Christmas and New Year.

Nice one, Mattrom! Not far off a clean sweep.

Cheers, Chris. Enjoyed the clips. (We attended the wedding of a couple of our friends a few months ago. Before the ceremony, a singer, with an obvious background in opera, sang the latter song in Italian with an, albeit pre-recorded, orchestral backing. It was really impressive. I automatically presumed that Ewan MacColl had nicked a classical melody for his song, as have many others for their own ditties. Having spoken to the singer at the reception later, I was happy to be disabused of the notion that any plagiarism on the part of Mr MacColl was involved).

Thanks, Spike2, for the vote. Much appreciated.

Wishing each of you all the best for the festive season, whatever your beliefs,

Have a good one!

SW
