Don't know if anyone's still on this, so I'm starting a new thread. Didn't get to it until late yesterday and am stuck on 21a: delivered by spooner, rug prepared in old Asian capital (8)

k?t???d? (8). I thought katmandu but that's not the spelling, is it? I'm no good at spoonerisms.

And crossing it, 22d Ampere unit giving current (5)

??o?t

If katmandu is right the first letter is a, but I'm sure it isn't.

thanks

KATMANDU is an older spelling, hence "old Asian capital".

22 A FOOT - current, going on now

Oh, and the Spooner is "mat can do".

I don't like Spoonerisms either, and this is a particularly poor one, as "mat can do" doesn't mean anything, and the spelling has changed.
