Like you, I only solved four in the first hour, and I thought I was going to have to abandon it. But I persevered, and finally completed it. It was a stinker, though.

I am going to show my lack of ability here.
9a How does regrants =something on a plate? Have checked loads of online dictionaries but can't find a regrant to be any sort of food or decoration on a plate.
12a Where does the diaphr come from, please?

12, "diap" reversed is "paid", professional.
"HR" is Human Resources/ personnel

Loubyloo, as Rusty said yesterday, it's the Reg that's something on a plate, a car registration on the number plate.
