I've still got a few problems, after filling in most of the grid:

My Type iv letters give the same word twice - in fact, the second part of the usual hyphenated word ie I have a P instead of an H somewhere.

Help for 10d and 27d appreciated, and also the meaning of 4ac

Hi dylan, unless I'm reading your post wrongly the 2nd part of the hyphenated word got from the (iv)s begins P !
4a, 10d & 27d are all (ii)s with the definition of 4a being 32; so a synonym of 32 which is a (i).

Finished the crossword, but I don’t understand the parsing for 27d. :-

9d seems to have an extra word but is type (v) normal...

Buzzb, I wondered about that, too...although 9d. can be music (bars) for a dance, as well as the dance itself.

On the home straight. All the mystery words sorted but still having a tussle with 16a. I thought it was a blood sucker but can't make that fit with the wordplay or 15d. Also have first 4 letters of 34a, know the letter to be omitted but, again, the wordplay evades me. Again, a guiding light would be much appreciated. Thanks.

16A *is* an airborne bloodsucker, and does fit with 15D (whose grid entry is not a real word)

34A - use the three letter abbreviation for the country and it’ll become clear
