50d Irrational number's using variable for second time (5). I have d?t?y. Irrational could be the definition word leading to dotty or ditzy, but which? I can't work out the rest of the clue. Any help would be appreciated!

It's DITTY (musical "number") with Z ("variable") instead of the second "time", hence DITZY
