Second to Stornoway, a most wee city. 5 letters. I have T?R?N Turin would be the obvious, but I can't see the connection.

Thanks, Chrise. Not the first time you've come to my rescue, and I am sure it won't be the last.

I'm doing not too badly, happily lazing about looking out of the window at people who are not fortunate enough to be retired, trying to negotiate slippy pavements etc. So long as I remember to bring a decent supply of Condor pipe tobacco, I can create a thick cloud to hide behind if anuyone comes to the door trying to sell me something.

I've just bought a drawing from a deaf woman who came to the door!

Was it a good drawing, or a reflection of your generosity? I won the first prize on the Wee Stinker once, and got a £50 token for McTear's Auction. Now £50 in an auction ain't going to go far. With luck, it might pay the buyer's premium of 24% on what you eventually buy. Mrs P has an eye for good art work. My signature piece is a four legged, pipe smoking black bird, but to date, I haven't been discovered by the high heidyins of the art world.
