Thank you to all of you for giving me 3d, which gave me 8ac, 2d and 1d.

I started very late and am very tired (the shed/garage project is nearly finished). I only got two on my first read through and nearly gave up but with the start you gave me I've done all but 25 ac Cat in conversation chain (5)

I have U?N?S, but I think my crosser from 21d may be wrong. Any hint would be gratefully received.

It helped enormously once I got the film, but there are quite a few I cannot parse completely, including 21d.

I think your "U" is wrong.

21d - a letter indicating nothing anagrammed with another word in clue

25 definition is chain

21d is just an anagram

It was obvious when I wasn't blinded by liking Opaque.

I've now done lots of ironing and watched Spiral so I can go to bed in satisfied now.
