Flirt, trifl(e)*. This is an &lit clue: the definition and wordplay is provided by the clue in entirety.

There are also part &lit clues similar to above but usually require additional word(s) to provide the definition.

Hi again farr, you need the Latin for but, sed, which should get you there.
