Fair enough. perhaps it was an exceptionally low tide when I was there.

A bit of disagreement about Niagara Falls, but no one is sticking up for the Midwestern "peasants." By the way, the best English travel book about the US is (in my opinion) Trollope's "North America." He didn't even suggest exterminating the native peoples (as he did in his book about Australia).

I thought that Redtop was 'not one of the qualities' i.e a tabloid not a 'serious' quality broadsheet paper.

Redtop could mean either.

I too thought that redtop referred to newspapers (didn't know about the milk). What's 10D- What gives out (from below) a gas now renamed? I have NI_O and either I or N depending on whether I have 18A right. Also 32A- I have _HO_DAR.
