Difficult to stop myself using Dan word these days , but can anyone explain the parsing of 17d
‘Type of orange drink , oddly nice , that cuts through (8)’

Answer given as ‘Valencia’ which is a type of orange (!) and the letters of ‘nice’ are in there.... can see ‘via’ would be ‘through’ and the odd letters of nice are n & c ....

I think it's

Drink = ALE and the rest is as you say:-

odd letters of Nice and Via

Thanks Brendan , can you explain ‘cognitive dissonance’ as answer for 26&27 ac - is clue just a straight definition ?
‘Cannot give decisions suffering this?’ (9,10)

Type of orange - valencia
drink - ale
oddly nice - nc
which then 'cuts' through - via

It looks like an anagram of all words preceding 'suffering'.

17dn seems a bit contrived but the longer one is a clever anagram to be fair.
