I just couldn't figure it out, to be honest I'm not really a morning person - I know, excuses, excuses:-)

Rusty, thanks. No, I hadn't got the answer, though I hadn't spent much time on it - mainly because it was linked to 25, which we didn't get to see. Your answer was great, but I'd never have worked out the Japanese bit!

Brendan, glad you didn't mind my remark. I thought you might have simply overlooked at 7 A. My brain works better in the morning, so I'm never able to help out much in the evenings!

Sir Anthony "Eden" is hidden in charter(ed en)gineers.
And I knew of Mr Abe, the Japanese PM.
That was a big help to getting Aberdeen.
I found these clues confusing with all the numbers etc!

Thanks again, Rusty. I'd never heard of Mr Abe - and it really doesn't look like a Japanese name, does it? I'm never keen on crosswords with lots of linked clues like this one had.
