Sorry I meant the first word in the grid.

Jadzia, there's only one letter that can go before the first Down answer...

Malone, on the top row, there is a 7 letter word., to begin with . I have got the first 4 letters but want confirmation about the next 3.

The last three come from the last part of the instruction, where all the commas are.

Sorry, jadzia, I've just noticed that your earlier post did say 'the last three letters of the first word' - I must not have been paying attention!

If you've got the full 'hint' you'll have seven letters - those get used around the thematic entries, all forming real words.

Jadzia49, glad you got it all done. Sorry I wasn't much help! When you said you had the first four letters in that Across word, I thought it'd be easy for you to fill in the rest - there weren't many options.

I think I've gone wrong somewhere. I've got the title and can get three names fitted in but I'm thinking I need a 'D' to make real words in the north-east but I don't have one from the extra wordplay letters. Have I gone awry ?
