def. is : not arranged in a straight line (having branches)

3 letters for 'cut'(reversed) around 6 letters for where i am now (using the internet)

Thanks jazzgirl - got it. Any ideas for 18 across? I have P... N.. which suggest 'PINE NUT', but can't relate that to the clue.

I have PINE NUT (eaten with a salad)

consume -pine
fruitcake - nut (nutty person)

Thank you again - two to do. 19D 'Second-rate chump has to return prize' - I have t.n .o. and 28 across Drinks Australian ingested, displaying signs of overindulgence for which I have .a.n.h.a (which does not look right to me!)
