Congrats peterm. "At the mercy of the library": before I finally bothered to get the internet at home, the libraries here were my internet cafés: we have 7 or 8 around the town, and you got 30 mins free each day ... it focussed my mind!

Can someone parse the Murray part of the clue please? I googled runners/athletes but couldn't spot anyone likely. Is Andy Murray doing something? No doubt I'll kick myself when you tell me!

Steve, the second part refers to the River Murray in Victoria.
Unfortunately not running too much, these days.

Steve@52 & 54: I'm woefully ignorant of the geography of Australia (sorry, mattrom), but I did recall the Murray as being its longest river. I serendipitously found a connection with Victoria.

If I were wearing a hat, I'd take it off to you, fiery, for dedication in running the show from a library. I just didn't think of it.
