Apropos 24 I took the first two words as the intended definition. One could be a swivel-eyed Ximenean and get all aerated about: (a) “Primarily” doing double duty; and (b) the fact that the definition intended in not actually the first given in Chambers. But, hey, it’s a crossword... Save your righteous anger for something worth it: Dominic Cummings, perhaps...

For 24, this comes from the initial letters, and gives a style of singing made popular by jazz singers. Effectively it's an &lit.
