Struggling with parsing 17ac.

Cash/check (omit solidus) (5)

Pretty certain the answer is AUDIT which works for “check” but I don’t see the rest of it.

Just a guess!
A solidus is a forward slash /.
Omit the solidus from cash/check and we get "cash check"
Is "cash check" an "audit"?

Thanks Rusty, that’ll be it. I was trying to be too clever and thinking about American spellings of cheque and other nonsense.
